My lad is 6 years old and has been showing signs of ADHD - especially in school (not so much at home). He is very good at maths and is way ahead on his reading and spellings are fantastic too. He is good at science but rubbish at PE (but the teacher says that he always tries even though he finds it challenging). He refused to do creative activities until he reached year one at school (the year after reception). It turned out that he is left handed. His writing is scruffy at school, but neat at home. I have asked him why and he said it's because he is rushing so that he does not have to stay behind during playtime. I have tried to read a little bit about ADHD and I believe that there are three kinds but I am unsure as to where my boy stands. Has anybody experienced anything similar? Please advise what I should do.

Thanks

Sorry, just a few things to add, he is not violent - quite the opposite he is kind and affectionate and hates the thought of anybody being sad or upset. He always stands out from the other children and some of the other children are taken aback when he approaches them with loud confidence. He is a deep thinker and takes to heart anything that other children say about him.
