My 9 year old son is taking Vyvanse and he can't sleep either. I started giving him Melatonin a week ago, but so far it doesn't seem to be working. ↑ |
My 10 year old is on Adderral, basically a legal dose of speed. ADHD kids don't speed up, the med actually slows them down. Yet another imponderable about these kids. This legal speed. worn of or not, makes sleeping an issue. I give my daughter a over the counter melatonin supplement shortly before bed. There are 3 or 5 mg pills. It works well. The brain itself produces melatonin for sleep and this supplement helps her to get to sleep. It won't keep a kid asleep all night, as even my kid is a 4 am cupboard wanderer, but melatonin is worth trying. ↑ |
