I am a 52 yr old grandma, that had to adopt her 14yr old grandson. His parents are indifferent as to what I had to do over the years to care for him. He has grown up to be a fine young man. As he grows, so does the finances. I am on a limited income but somehow we make ends meets. Recently, I had some distrubing conversations with his father and mother. They want him back! He is now 16 yrs old, he and I have his future already planned. My grandson is concerned about how I feel about them and what they want.! I let my grandson know, I am not concerned after all this time. In two years, he will be in College. His parents will have to "fight" me in court! I tell him he has been a part of my life for 16 yrs and they are not going to waltz in and take over. They have contribute less than $3000.00 to his care. He lives with me since he was 3 days old. They do not care about the stress and or the financial difficulities I have endured all these years. My health is not good and I stretch every dollar we have. I am trying to put away money to get his school clothes and supplies. When I brought this up to his parents, they said I was money hungry! I told them, I should not be the one asking, you two should have been the ones doing!! Please forward this e-mail to other grandma's or pa's with similair situation. ↑
