I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not but I was adopted through Catholic Charities and it seemed to go very well for my parents. If you have any more questions feel free to email me at [email protected] ↑ |
Janelle,
Are you trying to adopt or placing a child for adoption? I am asking because I was talking to a gal in Cininnati named Janelle who was placing and I wanted to see how she was doing

Never heard of it. Is it through your local church or how did you find it?

Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Services (CSS) are not the same. We met with them (CSS) in Michigan (Kent County) when we were meeting w/ a bmom there. Their services may vary from state to state.
Pros: In MI, CSS did not take on any adoptive family clients who were willing to pay bmom expenses - they did not allow it because the state provides so many pregnancy resources. They will not assist any bmoms who are requesting money (in MI). They really encourage and assist bmoms so that it does not become a process of money.
Cons: In MI, CSS had not done any ICPC (no out of state) - not that they wouldn't, but they hadn't yet. ↑ |
Janelle,
My sister used CSS out of Cincy. She adopted my nephew nine years ago and my niece 5.5 years ago. We are not using them. We live 2 miles from the Warren County border and would have to use Miami Valley CSS, and we did not have a good feel with them. We also had to wait a year so we were married 2 years, a year waiting list (9-15 months) for a homestudy, and then the wait.
Best of luck. If you want to talk more, feel free to email me.
Jody
