Just to update everyone. I have great news. The PBM scammer that we were scammed by in 2004 was busted for the 3rd time. Yes I did say third. She did a scam in 2/1998 and was arrested for fraud and was sentenced to 1 yr. Then she scammed us and 3 other couples in May-June 2004. She took about 2k total from all of us. Was sentenced to 18m and served 6m. I found out by word of mouth that she was at it again 2 weeks ago. So it does help to ask questions about the birthmoms you are talking to . She was caught on tape by a wonderful IP that flew to Houston from DC to meet her. I had talked to her a few times prior to her flying to Houston. I put her in touch with a great reporter here in Houston with the help of Kelly at the cruelest con. The story will run tonight on the CBS station here in Houston. Hse all three times was using the same story. Her name is Michelle Abrego.
Hopefully this story will help all IPs to know asking questions does help. She had been speaking with 8 to 10 couples this time in many states. She had posted on adoptads and was calling people off Parent Profiles.

Oh I forgot neither of those three times was she pregnant. She had her tubes tied 13yrs ago.

Many people have stated on this forum that they like to avoid licensed adoption agencies because they are expensive. But, I would think an agency would be worth the extra money to avoid scammers like this. ↑

Luckey, the sad thing is.....The scammers scam the adoption agency as well! Fake proof of pregnancy, the whole nine yards! Its very sad! Some women seek agencies to get financial help, knowing all along they would not place!

IMO...that is one reason why the agencies have gone way up on their prices! It is not unusual to see a situation with fees as high as $50,000........ ↑

Update....

It did not run because he did not get all the info he was hoping for soon enough. I hope it will aire next Thurs. I will post as soon as he lets me know.

Oh and Luckey.....I did use a fac. when I found her and was scammed. She sent a fake proof of preg. She looked 5 m preg. would lift her shirt and show you her stomach. I went to the Drs office with her when she dropped off her doctors release. The the Dr called our attorney...YES I said, ATTORNEY. Look us cheap people on here do use attornies! And he talked to him twice she had not been preg. in 11 yrs at that point. And we drove and dropped off the paper. How can any person knowingly do this. No feelings at all! Selfish and wanting attention like many scammers that have been and still are on here.
So just because you tell us to use an attourney, facilitator or agency doesn't mean we are goingto listen we may have already BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT!!!!!!!! And still been scammed.
