Just to give a little light to this forum, we just brought our little girl home yesterday. She was born on 3-3-06 at 4am. She is small, but perfect. We had the best time with our birthmother and really made a special bond that will grow in time. I just thought I would share our special news. Good Luck with you all your journey.

As most of you know here that I went through an adoption agency called the IAC or Independent Adoption Agency that both Joi and Lisa are working with. My birthmother found us through their in Dec. and so did my son's birthmother. I know that others have found a birthmother here at this board and that she is due in the next week or so. And I wish you luck Ms. B. Ms. B's birthmother is a really nice girl and they have a great relationship, so saying that there is really hope at this site for good Birthmothers.
Ty and I started with the agency again in Oct 2005 and where on the books in Nov 2005 and matched in late Dec 2005. And with are 1st son it we started in Feb 2003 and matched in July 2003 and born Oct 2003.
What I think is very in important is a very strong, bright, fun, creative birthmother letter that helps the birthmother see who you are, when that agency sends it out. That is how both birthmoms pick us through the letters. I work on it for weeks and bought the thickest card stock with the shiniest shine.
Did the birth letter really work? I do not know but I would do it again if I was adopting again.
I also worked on a web site like most of you all did.
After mached, we did help our BM out with stuff because she needed it. We went to visit her 2X's when she lived only 5 hours away and went to her 1st Dr. appt. We spent time with her mother and really tried to get to know them as people. It also was very stressful but in the end very worth it for both of our children. I hope this gives you a little idea about what we did there also also a little more, but gives you all an idea.
