How many are home study approved? And would you rather adopt in state or out of state?

I am homestudy ready. I dont have a preference as to in state or out. Some states are more adoption friendly than mine is. There are some states with shorter finalization wait times.

Yep - homestudy approved. And any state that is meant to be - is meant to be.

We are home study approved also. We would like to adopt from AR or neighboring states. I have heard Texas has a 3 day wait period and then finalization can occur. Does anyone know anything about this? christy

To Christy-

I am sorry to say what you heard about Texas finalizing in 3 days is incorrect.

7 weeks ago we adopted our son from TX; finalization is not until 6 months after placement.

However, the birthmother cannot sign away her rights until 48 hours after the baby is born. Maybe that is what you had it confused with.

Good luck to you !

You a birthmom or just throwing out a general question.
We have had a home study going on two years now, been at this adoption game for seven long years. [email protected], some states are more adoption friendly... we are in Michigan, don't matter which state, airplanes and cars and phones go to any of em James R and Patricia on parentprofiles.com

homestudy approved w/flying colors!... no real preference regarding state, other than, if it is open or semi open it would be easier for the first mom and us logistically.

Hi Deanna,

We're homestudy approved and certified by our state. It doesn't matter to us if we adopt in state or out of state.

Why do you ask?
