We all konw how anxiety producing waiting to meet, waiting to match, and waiting for the birth can be. How to you take care of yourself during this time? Knit? Read? Support groups? Set up a nursery? Garden?

As a personal request, would you please stay on topic. If you want to repond to someone off topic, maybe you can post a new message to that individual. Thanks!

I've been practicing my knitting skills - I knit small things like baby hats & booties, throw blankets, and infant size clothes.

Yes, I knit baby blankets as well, nice flat things... I should set up a website to sell em.

I like to spend time with family, friends and of course, my darling husband! Quality time that I may not have so much time to spend with them once we have a precious little one to take up all our time! :-)

Our oldest niece is here with me this evening for a 'girls night in' and we're just hanging out and having a fun time... They all take their turns staying, as well as my little sister! We spend lots of time playing with our pets, we eat out just because, we go places that you can't go with kids and we just try to enjoy our days with empty arms.

We can't wait to be parents and will gladly put all those things on the back shelf when our little one finally joins the family... but until then, we try to fill up our time making beautiful memories.

(I also fit in time for much loved scrapbooking and hours of shopping!)

Even though I'm not adopting, I think you should keep busy during that time. I crochet a lot, also a support group. I personally like scrapbooking and volunteering at the school. Matter of fact to the people who are waiting for the first child, I would recommend for you to volunteer at K to 1st. They sure can teach you an awful lot that you never knew about kids.

I spend lots of time playing with our daughter and husband and spending time with our famiy. We recently got all of the furniture for the nursery. It is difficult to wait, though!!! :) Things happended so quickly for our first adoption and this time it is much slower!! :) Just try to stay as busy as possible!

I've always been a volunteer at my son's school since day one! I LOVE it!

I volunteer in the NICU at Children's Hospital of Michigan, been doing this for about a year now and I love it. Get to hold, feed, diaper, rock, anything they need. Often the nurses get too busy especially with more than one baby hollaring at a time...

During my waiting for both adoptions I did the gardening and stayed on the computer to much. If something was going on in town I would also go to the event for fun, thinking it may be the last.

I don't..haha..
Actually, I work 4 jobs right now...On purpose.
I picked up extra shifts and hours to keep my mind off the waiting process. It is good, cause I am making money to save for the baby when they actually come into our lives :)
