Is it safe to find a family online? I have read and heard horror stories.

Hi Aimeelynne,
You know I have the same feelings. There is definitely scary stuff in the internet world, but I have heard a few success stories as well. I do believe it can happen, and that is why I keep trying.

Hi Aimeelynne,
I too have wondered that. It's tough, you don't really know who you're talking to online. I've met some great people, and I've heard some horrible stories.

I think it's possible, you just have to give it a chance, make the effort and follow through with people that you are talking to.

We're trying to adopt, looking on line and other places trying to find a birth mom. Hopefully it will happen.

Good luck.

If you want to chat, you can email me at [email protected]

Take care,
Susan

I think it can happen! As long as both sides are truthful.... and get to know each other well! We keep hopefull!

Aimmelynne,

My birthmother found me online; we are homestudy approved as are many of the families on here.

Finances are checked, social workers come to our homes, classes we had to attend, background checks by the FBI all had to be done, and so much more.

Don't be worried; there are so many loving families on here, again many are homestudy approved and ready.

Best of luck to you.

Please always if you feel uncomfortable, always ask some one, I have even called the police before and asked them in the state the Birthmom was living in just to make sure, also call the court house public records and they will tell you to, and then last your GUT feeling always go with that, It want lead you wrong. Hi Aimeelynee,

I think you always have to go with your gut. Our son's birth family found us on-line thankfully, but we went through a lot of heartache before that and met a lot of people with bad intentions to get to that point. Just do what is necessary to protect yourself and always make sure who you are dealing with is legitimate and can provide references. Best Wishes.
