Please, please read not only the date of the first response after a post to avoid bringing up old (likely too-late) situations, but also read through the thread. At the very least, skim over the responses.

I recently posted that I was scammed by a supposed potential birthmom from this board by actually putting SCAM, SCAM, SCAM in the same thread, and yet two other folks have responded to this same person since my warning. It only takes a second to skim over them and could save you much heartache and even money. Take care everybody and good luck in your searches.

P.S. This in no way is meant to disparage any real pbmoms, as I have the utmost respect for you all. This is strictly a warning against fakes. As with those of us seeking you, I'd warn that you also read between the lines when following up with any potential adoptive parents.

Has anyone actually had an experience that worked out through this site...or was deemed legitimate? I was just curious....many of these "potential birtmom's" are obvious con artists which really does stink for those others who are sincerely looking for advice.

Mostly I'm typing this to bump the thread, but I was mistaken in how many responses were after my warning. There were two after another person's warning and one after my own, which is really worse since it means they were warned twice!

Chele999, I believe there have been very few situations that turned out well from this board. Even if they weren't scams, I believe they mostly fizzle out. It's unfortunate that people can't come together without the involvement of big agencies, but that's the way it seems to keep everyone protected.

You only have to read the posts from propsective birth moms to notice a few similarities. They are all only "thinking" about adoption at this stage. We if you're only thinking about it, why post your email address on here for people to contact you? its all about attention scammers.
This site is the pits and anyone who thinks you could possibly find anyone legitimate here is crazy.
Scammers are on both sides and women posting that they have babies available to those wanting to adopt and bypass all the correct protocols are no different. I mean who can really tell a 14 year old, yeah talk to me and I'll help you when all they are looking to do is find a baby. All scammers!!

Apogies for the typos....should be prospective, not propsective.

Once again, responses are being made to the old posts and scammers. Everybody be safe no matter your position in the adoption triad.

Ok I dont normally post here but PLEASE folks look at the dates. Folks are reposting threads from last year - the babies are a year old in some cases and are very likely not available for adoption.

Most everyone here is looking to adopt, but posting to things that old makes you seem really desperate. Please read the first or second post and the dates before you respond.

Regular users - I wrote and email to the site owner with a list of suggestions on how to improve the site. Maybe if enough of us write we can get this site fixed.

Have a great day.
