So my laptop and I are sitting in Childrens Hospital in Omaha Nebraska as we wait for tests on London to come back. He was rushed to University Hospital last night with a 104.00 temp and then transferred to Childrens for a better level of care. They have drawn blood done chest xrays, run urine, done a lumbar puncture and everything is coming back with alot of white cells and protien, at this time they are trying to rule out meningitis but it isnt looking to positive. He also has a bad kidney infection and they are treating that and are aggresivly giving him antibiotics to fight meningitis in case thier suspicions are correct. If people could please pray for him and his health it would be so much appreciated,

Shauna

Thankyou everyone, London has just had a scan of his kidneys and it is being reviewed by a specialist because his kidney functions arent right, there is also "clouding" in the lower lobes of both lungs that they have another doctor coming in to look at. The positive to it all is that he is eating well and doesnt seem to be uncomfortable and is getting alot of rest. He weight exactly 5 lbs today and is now 19.5 inches long, Although he weighed 6.6 at birth he did get down to almost 4 lbs so the weight gain to me is very positive. I should know more after the specialists see him this afternoon for his lungs and kidneys.

well they have ruled out meningitus but he is having kidney problems they arent functioning properly, I am actually waiting for the nephrologist to come in about the scans he had. He is still on the antibiotics and I am told they will be adding a new medication tonight. The pulmonologist has him on breathing treatments to see if it clears the clouding up since there is no reason for the cloudiness except his prematurity. Otherwise his temp is gone and he is sleeping well.

YAY we will be going home tommorrow and he will have to be seen every 3 days in the neph. clinic and by his ped. but to me it is worth it to be home with the girls and cozy and to know he isnt as sick as they thought. The nephrologist will closely monitor his kidney functions through out the next few weeks as we come up with a game plan if they dont improve, he will remain on antibiotics at home as a meausre of precaution, otherwise all is well and he is doing so much better actually opening his eyes and looking around, nursing beautifully and the talk of the floor (all the infant rooms were full so he was put on the big kid floor and the nurses feel so blessed but he is being the blame of a sudden outbreak of baby fever amongst the floor) ... odd enough I am told he cries less then most patients on this floor!
