Hi Jody-I was wondering how Collin is doing? Hope he's feeling all better now. Also, how long did it take from start to finish to adopt Collin? Was it a private adoption? I'm fairly new and am sorry if you posted this earlier. I'm interested to hear his adoption stories. I love hearing adoption stories!! I cry when I watch them on TV, but at the same time I feel so good.

Hi.
Well, we started the adoption process 3 years ago, after we lost our second baby, a girl, at 18 weeks. Due to the fact that this board has gotten sooooo rotten and "not so luckey" lately, I'm not gonna get too deep into the past. Sorry...hope you understand. I'm not in the mood for a bunch of cut and pasting of my personal life.
We had been matched a bunch of times, ended up with 4 scams and one change of heart, and one reclaim. all with in 2 years....Now, we are blessed with Baby Collin Wayne Jackson! His first mom found us on the NET....YUP IT HAPPENS! We had used an agency, two,,,,, to be exact.....no luck with them. We thank the Lord above for the internet every day! Collin's adoption is private, open,,,,,,,, and wonderfull! We love his first mom and have a great relationship with her, and her family!

Hey, lets connect through email!

Hi Joanne-

In our case, ours was a private adoption, processed through an adoption agency, as the state we live in is mandatory agency state. We were legally allowed to find our own birthmother (called designated adoption) which we did on another internet site, www.surromomsonline.com. She responded to our adoption ad.

We first started searching for a birthmom in October 2005. OUr son's birthmom contacted us for the first time in March 2006, then didn't hear from her again until May 26, 2006. He was born June 26, 2006. We left the hospital with him June 28th.

Joanne,

That is my happy ending; I was also scammed a few times before and after we found our son. AND THAT IS WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF OUR AGENCY, LUCKEY. (Agencies have humans working at that them that sometimes like all of us, make mistakes. Scammers are criminals that can trick agencies too Luckey!)

One of our scammers we prosecuted with help from the FBI, and is sitting in a jail cell in Texas awaiting trial.

It is not easy, Joanne, but so worth it when you find your
angel(s) !

Best wishes-
