Anyone working with or been told Your the chosen family? There seem to have been several chosen families to find out not long after match that they have not actually been chosen. Etc. Proceed with caution.

uhm dreams I have clearly never chosen a family or matched with a family, I have in fact directed people to my lawyer if I feel they may be a possibility.

I thought she matched with a gay couple, that's what she posted on another board.

Name: Me | Date: Jun 9th, 2006 8:49 PM
She is working with an attorney, and 2 agency's. Plus she is taking applications from people on the internet.
Would be pretty overwhelming.

here it is, I am speeking to a gay couple I would like to match with but always as stated I wont match until a meeting and that has yet to happen, they are with IAC and are very aware of my lawyer in Iowa who will represent me in my adoption plan, her name is Elizabeth Rosenbaum and she is in Sioux City, Iowa. Since noone ever knows what will happen I have talked to Ellen Roseman as well about another same sex couple she has. I have yes talked to people on the internet and that is where I found the gay couple represented by IAC and Ellen Roseman. As a birth mom I think I have every right to have my own attorney who is here to represent me and look out for me.

So no match yet. And still looking at families? It is very important to have your own attorney and counselor.
The couple is represented by both the IAC and Ellen. Do alot of people looking to adopt work with more then one agency?

Shauna- you are very wise to take your time and make sure you choose the right family- especially in open adoption- you are all going to bonded for the rest of your life. Also good to make sure your are covered by an attorney, however as the birthmother I don't think you have to pay for your own lawyer.
To ME - Ellen is a facilitator and very reputable, a lot of families use an agency and a facilitator, some people say it is effective and others report it was a waste using a facilitator. A lot of states do not allow facilitators.
Best wishes Shauna

the couple i am working with that i will hopefully soon meet is with IAC, the couple that i call my "2nd choice" is with ellen roseman, but i will never really know if they are a first choice or second choice until i have met with them and spent time face to face with them. others that i have spoken to that send me the i want to adopt your baby email these days i refer directly to my attorney. i also have a therapist that i am working with in this, people shouldnt just assume i woke up one morning and said i dont want my son let me see who i can screw with, i am not in a hurry to match because i am not seeking compensation or expenses from this, there is soemthing alot more important in the end that is my son and all people involved, this isnt giving my son away or giving him up this is about placing him with the people that will love and nurture him kiss his scraped knees and laugh when he does the chicken dance, it is about the kissy faces and childhood bumps and bruises, it is about the love he so deserves and the addition of a family unit in mine and my daughters and sons life.

About Ellen, she is the warmest most loving person I have encountered in the adoption world. I have retained my attorney because she is the best in Iowa and to date has completed well over 400 adoptions in her family law practice. About Ellen, most of her clients also use agencies and that is because it takes exhausting work for Ellen to even agree to work with you, there are numerous assignments so to speak as she makes sure you are material that is perfect for cooperative adoption. Her couples to this day birth moms included still share in delight of family time with her, she will only facilitate contractual open adoptions and holds her adoptive couples very accountable for all their actions. There is not one sly or foul word spoke by her or about her and anyone as a aparent or birthmom should feel honored to know that a person as wonderful as her is working with them. Her daughters are adopted and she made sure they had open adoptions with their birth families and would never ever speak a ill word of anyone! Typically i would say run from a facilitator but when it is Ellen i instead say run to her.

You sound like a loving person, why are you placing him?

Name: Me | Date: Jun 9th, 2006 11:45 PM
That is not nice. Not everyone thinks like you do. This is not the forum to push religion.

Jaynee .. let me say this people dont chose to be gay they are born that way it is who they are and they are great people. God created them as they created you and the bible states judge not least ye be judged. So apparently you like to sin as well. About same sex couples, they are so loving and wonderful with great family support they love and cherish each other and they rarely split and raise some of the best open minded children. People like you perhaps should not adopt since you will raise your child to judge discriminate and be foul to others. I would never want my son to be raised by a person who could speak like you perhaps that is why I looked at same sex couples.

And the reason I am placing him is my 3 year old has a sun allergy PMLE and requires alot of care I would hate to neglect one for the care of the other, I dont think I would feel like I was doing my best as a mother.

Shauna

What special things do you need to do with a child who has this PMLE? Are you on your own? Do you have support? How are you going to explain this to your daughter one day? It must be hard.

Name: sdt1977 | Date: Jun 10th, 2006 12:18 AM
I am a single mother, my daughters dad burned our family home down in november and I get no help or support, I also have a 18 month old who has signs of it that share the same father, Nadia has a severe case of it with other allergies on top of it and requires alot of 1 on 1 time and attention, I also care for my almost 78 year old grandfather who has memory loss. I am lucky when I get more then 4 hours of sleep a day and I dont feel I could be at my best raising another child at this time and I dont believe in terminating pregnancies.

I guess I didnt read all of that, my daughters have a therapist from Choices Counceling in Council Bluffs that come to my home to help my children understand the process, and whomever I chose to parent my child will know my daughters as well,

Shauna....Shauna....Shauna......is anyone else SICK of hearing about Shauna?

type in bchachmoo in google and you get to see Shauna in person on the single ads. This is on her profile.

"I am actually a mother to 7 children, 2 live with me and 5 of them live in california because of a bad divorce so i am unable to see them. My daughters that are with me now are 2 and 6 months so it is a must that you love children, slides and radio flyer wagons. I am a submissive type person and very much believe in the traditional roles of a household, a man owns His home and his family. I love life and want to live it to the fullest, i want my daughters to be embraced by love and a passion for success, love and life. I can have just as much fun in a pair of jeans as i can in a dress although i prefer the jeans. I love kids and want perhaps two more it is not etched in stone but it is a desire of mine, i care for my grandfather who raised me and since my grandmother passed my children and myself are all the family He has so that cant be a problem. When faced with a problem i look at the old saying when life gives you lemons make lemonade, meaning i try to make the best even from the worst of things and i desire a person who is the same. I am not a perfect body, not a hard body and not a model, if that is what you are looking for perhaps you will find her two doors down and to the right. ;)"

Here's something I found interesting, Shauna. You stated you were placing this baby b/c of your daughter's illness, but in this ad, you're already talking about wanting more children? I don't get it. Also, just wondering if you pay child support on the 5 kids you aren't raising? Also, this ad was placed recently. You knew your daughter had medical problems so why did you get pregnant?

Let's face it Shauna...you're a drama queen. I, for one, am sick of your sob stories, your bashing of scam advocates and your constant hunger for attention. Please, please, please, just spare us all and stay off all the boards. Find yourself a family and get on with your life and leave us all alone. Or better yet, just hook up with Derrick and he'll show you the ropes on scamming 101. Enough already! You're becoming a bore and nescience.

hmmm, do your homework that was well over a year ago things in peoples lives change, and yes i do support my kids in california 743.00 a month to be exact. My then 6 month old is almost 2 and my then 2 year old is over 3. I find it funny there is a ad up with a name I havent used since before I met my ex, I just use this email for my family and well well over a year ago he and i were together. If I were in an ideal relationship I would not be placing my son.

oh yea I'm sorry to double post but I had one other comment i forgot..

ME!!

I am totally impressed with your comment on religion. It opened a totally different opinion for me of you!
Thank you for not gay bashing!! My reason for this is because My father is a gay man and he was a wonderful human

I am new here so forgive me if this sounds rude. But Shauna...how in the hell do you pay over $700.00 in child support, have a child that is special needs and support the two kids you got at home? At an average wage in Iowa the $700.00 is all that you would make. This doesn't make sense to me..plus you would have to pay for daycare for your special needs child. Fill me in will you!

Name: sdt1977 | Date: Jun 12th, 2006 3:05 AM
Well because I get paid to care for my grandfather as well as work which I then have to pay 37% of what I gross in support. My daughter gets benefits through Social Security whcih gives me daycare for her through medicare and medicaid. Next question? and I will say people average more then $700.00 a month in Iowa!

Shauna, forgive me (again). You had told me that you did not have a job now, nor had you had one for a while now (due to the pregnancy). Again, might I recommend spending less time online - you would save your potential adoptive parents a lot of money (the agency you use would not have to pay you as much support)? As a potential AM myself I know that that would be a quality I would look for in a potential BM - that she cared about *us*, as well. Especially since we will be the future parents to her child.

I know you probably will not take this well. Please trust it was meant to be helpful to you, that is all.

Hey Shauna,
I am sure that you realize this but you really do not have to answer all of these very personal questions regarding your employment/wages and how you pay your bills. That is no ones business. Take care and have a great day.

Name: BarbieSmith | Date: Jun 12th, 2006 5:22 PM
I would like to let all know that Shauna emailed a very genuine, informative, friendly email to me. I stand corrected in my original thinking of her. Her circumstances are indeed unfortunate, but it seems she truly is trying to make the best of them. She seems dedicated. I was a little amazed that she would write such a civil and personally giving email to me after what she has taken place on this board.

I just wanted everyone to know that I feel as though *I* did not give Shauna enough of the benefit of the doubt. I apologize for that.

Barbie

ps: and NO! I am not writing this so that she places her son with us. She has already ruled us out and is lookiing elsewhere. Just wanted to write human to human :)

Name: Dreamsofchild | Date: Jun 13th, 2006 8:56 PM
Ok folks this is how I see this. She is probably Not going to place with anyone. She cannot even get her stories straight and that is a very sad thing since she is supposedly a mom and her kids look up to their mom. Also I read that place where she has her personal listing. She wants More children. So she has gotten her way. I am sorry but If you want more kids and then magically get pregnant? Seems you would do the natural thing and raise your baby yourself. Plus I saw somewhere where this person had stated she Had chosen the gay couple not was considering them Had chosen them. PLus sorry I find working with more then One professional to find a family also to be of questionable behavior. So proceed with caution.

Dreams, I agree.

Problem is, she's very good persuasive and articulate. I wouldn't just proceed with caution, I'd run! Just the way she lashed out at adoption scam activists make me sick. It's pretty obvious that she loves being the center of attention and all the drama.

As far as the personal ad goes...how can she want more kids when there's FIVE of them she's not even raising!

Shauna, you need to quit spending so much time defending yourself, work with an agency, stay off the computer and raise the kids you do have.

I said it once, I'll say it again. "Shauna.....Shauna......Shauna. Is anyone else SICK of hearing about Shauna?"

bluitexan,

You have missed alot of the Shauna story. She is a bit off. She talked with many couples including us. She did promise us the match. She talked to people til all hours of the night. She did not have a job. Her kids did not go to daycare. She could hardly take her kids out in the daylight. They were sick and she did watch her grandfather. But, she could not make up her mind on the situation. There was several sights that talked about her and banned her in the end for scamming people.
She may have finally made up her mind but not before talking and promising her son to many couples at the same time.

I know you are hoping to be a surrogate but, you just started your journey. Do not match on your first conversation. Get to know them. Ask questions. Find out TS and GS. Nake sure you ahve insurance not medicaid that is illegal to fraud medicaid. It could cost you and the family in the end. Talk to more than one couple and the one you connect to let them know and then ask questions, get details work it out and meet in person.
Good Luck!
