Pay attention to the paragraph written by BabyCrowd about this forum;

"Trying to make sense of the adoption laws in your state? Confused by the different regulations surrounding international adoption? Wondering what your rights are as a birth parent or as an adoptive parent? Just looking for adoption information? You'll find all the support and advice you need when it comes to child adoption in this forum."Does it say anywhere this is a place to meet and match? NO!

For your safety, be cautious when dealing with people who are soliciting for your baby. I do not recommend using chat rooms to find adoptive parents.

Lucky, I have to wonder. What is your connection with adoption? Or do you even have one?

Woman charged over 'net adoption'

A Californian woman has been charged with giving away her 10-year-old son to a couple she met on the internet.
Police say Helen Chase, 29, handed the boy over to his new parents and then moved to another town to start a new life.

We were trying to see if he fitted well into the family

Helen Chase

"She told us basically, she was having trouble with her ten-year-old, problems at school, really typical 10-year-old stuff," Vacaville Police Detective Patrick Cowan said.

"She just decided she couldn't deal with this kid and wanted to adopt him out, which is kind of unusual in the first place."

Ms Chase says she wanted someone to adopt her son, John, because she could not cope with his bad behaviour.

After searching internet chat-rooms, she came across a man she knew only as 'Gus' who agreed to travel to California to collect the child.

Total stranger

Police say Miss Chase handed the boy over to a total stranger on their first meeting.

She then moved to another town, telling school authorities she was taking her son with her.

Police Detective, Patrick Cowan

The boy has been living with 'Gus' - real name Gustaf Sjoberg - and his wife since April.

Police found the boy apparently unharmed a few days ago, when Miss Chase's step-son told them John had been given away.

The 10-year-old has now been placed in foster care but will be sent back to Vacaville in California.

Problems at school

Helen Chase has been charged with child endangerment, abandonment and failure to provide for a child.

She is due to stand trial later this year.

In an interview for a local newspaper, she said she had not actually started the adoption process.

"We were trying to see if he fitted well into the family. We wanted him to go down, spend a little time and make sure it's a good place for him to be."

No money was going to be charged for the illegal adoption, but the family from Florida were to be given travel expenses.

Again I ask the same thing Lucky what is you connection to adoption.

Be careful if you are talking about something you are not educated in. Do you know how many adoptions take place in the US each year?

As for the article below! THAT IS NOT HOW ADOPTION WORKS. That is only one incident.

BUT besides all that. Do you really think there ar legit expectant moms here? Think again! I vote 99% are scams.

Chat Rooms are NOT places for adoptive parents to solicit birthparents. It is not appropriate for hopeful parents to post “I can help” messages, or internet addresses for birthmothers to visit, or to send this type of e-mail to birthmothers.

9. Conversely, it is not appropriate for birthparents to use the Chat Room to solicit
adoptive parents. Are you pregnant and considering adoption? We strongly recommend
that you do not select adoptive parents or an adoption professional from the website.
We have no way of knowing which parents on the message board or other community
services are qualified to adopt, and which professionals are reputable.

10. We strongly recommend that you visit the Resources section of our website which lists
all of the licensed adoption agencies in New Jersey. Any of these agencies can assist
you with options planning.
