I'm an adoptive mom, and adoption advocate and professional. We are seeking to have more children, though we are trying own our own right now, and I just found this board. It seems that there are many post and I wonder...how many of these girls/women on here are "real." There are many other ways and larger boards (I've been in this "business" for a while now) for prospective adoptive parents and birth parents to find each other. I search relentlessly to find new boards and adoption information daily. I pray for those who are looking for their forever child. It's a hard, long road and it doesn't help to have so many scammers out there. God bless you all.

You have stumbled across the scam board of the year !

Most of the posts are done by children having "fun"

Very sad, but don't take anything on here too seriously!

Caroline, echoing Tammy's post, I would be interested to know about some of these boards. I have registered with several and none of them have recent posters, which seems strange... lots from a few months ago and so on, but none recently. It sorta feels as though the boards directors just post "outdated" material to make you visit their board in hopes of new posts. If you have any other suggestions, thank you in advance. The majority of the posts are scams and pranks.

BUT, a real birth mother does show up looking for help every once in a while. It is our job to be discerning, so that we can be here for the real BM's; they need our help!

I frequent these boards:

www.canadaadopts.com

www.adoptionforums.com

The
y
are both wonderful.

This board needs a moderator to get rid of the questionable posts. From what I have read on here, most seems quite doubtful.

I'm active at adoption.com. However, before you guys rush on over there... you need to know that under the Birthparents board, you are NOT able to respond to any expectant mom who asks for help. that means, not giving PMs to them or anything. support, yes. Emails asking to contact you, no. The mods will crack down swiftly and mercilessly, and ban you from further posting if you do.

Those boards are a great example of excellent and consistent moderation. I'm now emailing a wonderful woman who just placed, just chatting away as friends connecting through quilting and other things we have shared in life. If you want to gain excellent insight into the adoption triad issues, that's the place to be, watch and carefully post.

I've gotten so much support there. Never disrespect. You can't "find" an expectant woman to match with over there though. So those of you who are trying to connect w/an expectant mom need to know that.

As for these boards... I see so many sweet and nice people on here... I wish every one of you the best... if all of us write to Hearthstone (I did after the icechick incident), and ask for moderation and keep hitting the poor taste button, they will get the message, I believe.

Hugs to all, Tammi
