I am Jessica, 23yrs. old. My husband is Tommy, 24yrs. old. We are not going through an agency to adopt. We are trying to have a private adoption. I think agencies are rediculous. They are more concerned with money for themselves then what is best for the child/children. I was bounced around from group home to group home and foster families as a child. I wish that I could have just been adopted by a loving family. I can not have a child of my own and would love to adopt. My husband and I are still young and could fulfill a child's needs. We have love, security, and hope to give a child. I don't think money is #1. I think as long as the child is safe and happy... that makes a good and stable family. I would like some feedback on this topic. from birthmothers and adoption parents. Thank you for your time. [email protected]

If money is not important, why are you asking people to send you money via your website?

because adoption agencies require money... i need to update my site. because we had decided to not go through an agency... too expensive.

also, i stated that money is not #1... i didn't say that it isn't important...

So despite you not needing the money for an agency now, you are still asking for donations on your website? Isn't that fraud?
And money is important to some people, especially if it isn't yours and is obtained by fraudulent means!

ok, juliedunesnet... you are not paying attention obviously. as i stated in response to your 1st comment... the website needed to be updated. if you saw on the site our ages weren't even updated. I started that site just over a year ago... I only recieved two donations... the mony was returned to the families that donated because we didn't recieve enough money to adopt through an agency. they also recieved a letter stating such. i have now updated the site. we are NOT by any means collecting money by fraud. We only were asking for the donations so that we could adopt through an agency we were working with. A little boy, Henry, was ready to be adopted from Guatemala and we needed to raise enough money to get him. It didn't work and he was adopted by another family. I didn't persue adoption again until a few months ago. I was so heart broken I wanted to give up. But I have started to try again. If you have any questions for me ask... please don't assume or blame... That is not fair. Just ask and I will gladly answer you. Thank you. Jessica

Hi Jessica
Best of luck to you on your adoption journey. I know how difficult it can be.

The trouble is I was paying attention and you only "updated" your website when I called attention to the fact that you were asking for donations.
It is good that you have changed this now as I think to try to raise the funds for adoption in this way, would only cast a negative light on the process. I wish you luck in your journey.
