Why can't your husband help with he cost if he wants a child?
If you can not afford $2700 how are you going to raise another child. Take the time and save your money like all of us adopting parents do or take a loan. I see that you said you have four already gave one up for adoption and 1 passed away.

Rainbow,

The chances for achieving a pregnancy after tubal ligation is statistically very low, about 20%.

There are no guarantees. =

It sounds like you still have two other children you and your husband are raising, so he is experiencing the joy of being a father. I'm sorry for the loss of your son, best of luck.

Well you'd both be in the same place wouldn't you...both with tubes tied and no money to get a reversal?

No offense intended. But have either of you thought of going to work where you have good health insurance? That would take care of the reversal. My best friend had a reversal three years ago and she miscarried the first time but has a two year old daughter right now. They didn't have the money to pay straight out for a reversal so she went to work in a factory. And as soon as she had worked long enough she had the surgery. She continued to work because she had to take special medicine to help her chances of becoming pregnant. After the first trimester was up, and the pregnancy was going good she quit work. But personally I think you need to get your husband to get a good job with health insurance so it can cover you thru the whole pregnancy and cover the baby after birth.

I 'm thinking about getting my tubes tied, and i talk to my ob,and she said that its a 60% chance that you can get pregnant if you get your tubes reversed. Also no insurance company is going to pay to get your tubes reversed, because when you get them tied, there saving money.I may be wrong,b ut doing a little research thats what i discovered!!

Your wrong. If you have good insuranse they will pick up at least 80 percent. I know of two people who have done this in the last four years. Sadly one of them never got pregnant and had to have a hystrectomy later.

I disagree....he's still missing out on being a father. Being a stepdad isn't the same as being a father.

Sorry for the wrong info,my gyn told me that insurance companies dont pay to get them reversed, which i can understand why.Being a step parent is wonderful..but it's also wonderful to have a biological child with the person you love also so "AMC",i totally agree with you!

mommie1201, I'm sorry I was wrong. I called my friends and yes their insurance DID cover their operations BUT they both had gone in for another surgery and the doctor did BOTH surgeries at the same time. So I guess you would have to find a COVERED surgery and get them both done. I'm sorry for the misinformation.
