Hi,I came across this board by accident. Myself and my husband are both wanting to adopt just as much as all of the adoptive parents posting on this site. We are somewhat new to adoption and I have been doing alot of research.
I am slightly agast at this message board. Why are hopeful adoptive parents posting their home numbers on the site when it seems that the board always has a scammer somewhere on it. I am also slightly alarmed that ap's aren't reading the post all the way down, or posting so many responses to potential "birthmoms". I agree with another ap that this would seem like it would scare a bm off.
I know personally that when you want something so bad, that you would or will do anything to obtain your dream, but we all need to remember to be safe. I like the phrase my sister uses becareful of "stranger danger".
I hope this doesn't offend anyone, I just want everyone to think and act with their heads and not just with their hearts. These are desperate times for some individuals and they don't care who they hurt. The best things I think are 800 number's (got mine for free), Parentprofiles~you need a homestudy just to post your profile and if you do find a birthmom and she needs financial help, set up an account with a lawyer, so she has to obtain the monies from them.
