I am a mother of twin boys that are 8 years old. They both have sensory integration dysfunction. I have come across a behavior issue that I haven't had to deal with yet, and desperately need some advice. I know all brothers fight, but with my boys it goes beyond "normal". I don't have any typical children, so I really don't have a great comparison, just based on what other parents tell me. One child will instigate the fight by humming, or saying something (echolayia) (or a skit from a show watched years ago) very quietly and it enrages my other son. So much so that he has resorted to screaming, chasing after him, and hitting him. Of course I realize alot of this is because they've been together all summer and need to get back to school. Nothing I've tried works. I've taken away video games, toys, movies, put them in time out (consistently). Nothing is working!! This is driving me to the brink of madness, because it goes on ALL DAY!! They even wake up in the middle of the night to fight. Any ideas???

Button pusing, especially yours. Do you have a daily schedule in place? As nailbiting an experience as it sounds, together time nightly included in your daily schedule works. Pairing up with other siblings, adults and changing the pairing daily to watch movie, play game, etc. It is awkward to start, but sticking to a schedule will ave its rewards.
