Hi Shirla My daughter was diagnosed with PP-NOS at the same age, I read so much back then, and I knew Alex was not diagnosed correctly, as it is very hard to diagnose girls with asperger's. Keep reading an keep questioning. My daughter was 9 yrs of age when I finally went to a pschologist who totally understood ASD and then I found the right paediatrician who understood ASD. My daughter is very aggressive and difficult, has no friends other than little kids up the road 5yrs younger than her, when Alex is happy she is great to have around me, but most days I deal with violence and verbal aggression, I have just put a bolt on my door , Alex could break in with the door lock. Alex is attending a school for Autistic children 3 days aweek, Alex just loves it and thrives on it, best thing I did but I was very lucky to get her in there. I am in Brisbane QLD Australia, there is by what I have read on the internet very limited resources, I hope it helps a little wendy

I have an 11year old son who was also just diagnosed with pdd nos. I wish we had figured it out sooner, but I am very glad we are on the right track now. My son is a little different than others I have heard of with pdd. He displays all symptoms except he is overly social. We can't get him to stop saying hi to everyone he sees. He also is very very verbal. His vocabulary is past college level. Does anyone else out there have a child that exibits these or similar traits.

hi shirla, my 4 year old son has recently been diagnosed with PDD-NOS, so I'm new at this, so I have a lot of questions and would love to talk to you about this diagnosis. The biggest issues we're having to deal with is his major temper tantrums and his inability to fall asleep at night. Do you have any suggestions on these topics?

Hi Shirla.I have twins girls 4yrs old also with PDD-NOS. They were given a provisional diagnosis of autism, now they seem to be improving, especially in the areas of language and social interaction. However they still have some issues. What is your boy like?

My 3yr old daughter was recently diagnosed with PDD-NOS. We are having a very hard time with her reactions to her baby brother. She is violent and aggressive towards him with no empathy or remorse whatsoever. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do to help?

OK .. i need help with this .. i have a 5 year old boy i believe he is autistic ..he has a vocabulary of over 500 words but only uses one word sentences .. when pushed he will use 2 or 3 poor eye contact knows all the shapes letters numbers in 2 languages does not point .. does not know how to kiss can count to 10 he has done all of that since he was 4 .. he now mimics elaborate motions he can read all the letters and numbers in 2 languages but the main thing is he is overly independent , will not speak unless is is detrimental and only in one word sentences if possible he has had extensive speech therapy for the past 8 months at that time he would not verbalize anything except songs and such .. was bathroom trained at age 3 and a half not a single mistake since has anyone been in a similar scenario with his or her child oh .. he goes to school with a shadow teacher and is following instructions much better his social skills are almost non exestent
