Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I wanted to know if there's any moms out here with a teenager who has autism. My son was diagnosed at around 3 1/2 with PDD. He's progressing well, but his communication and awareness of danger isn't what it should be at his age. I'm worried bat he won't ever really understand. Im at the point that I'm crying all the time because I don't really know if he's ever going to be okay. The other day I put a pot of water on to cook something and asked him to let me know when the water started to boil. He didn't even realize that the water had boiled out and the pot had started to burn. It made me so sad that he didn't know. It's so hard trying to cope with everything, but I'm doing my best. I really want to get him some additional speech therapy, but I'm out of work and can't afford it.
