hi susyp, we went from ireland to fuerteventura this summer it took 41/2 hrs, going, my son was ok for the first two hrs but then he needed the toilet and as soon as he realised he could get out of his seat that was it, nightmare!!!!!! On the way home i gave him a little spoon of something and he slept the whole way !!!!!! now while that would'nt be for everyone it worked for us as it was a night flight home anyway and when we landed and he woke he was in fine mood and there was no trauma for him whatsoever. Best of luck

Hi there. Olly is 3 and had autism and ADHD, we are from the UK and have been to American, and all over europe with him and his twin since they we 3 motnhs old.

Some time it can be hard. We take his car seat and explain to the airline that he wont understand or be able to sit for the flight without it. They let us board early and put his car seat in the plane for him. The also sometimes let you go through before other passingers if you explain that he finds crowds difficult.
We brough a dvd battery powered player and he wtach this favourites on the plane. We just made sure we had lots of things for him to do. Sometimes when we get off it can be hard bescause he wants to be carried and we have to eait for the pushchair to coem through with the luggae. we have treid to explain that he needs it but no luck on that one. Just don't be affriad to ask !

Good Luck

Hi again, the airlines can be very good if you explain to them, I went straight up to the service desk to explain and they had already pre booked our seats for us at the very front as Callum would have gone beserk stuck in between everybody, we also had a portable dvd player for him and a lot of his favorite toys, they also opened up a desk to check us in so that we didnt have to wait much to others annoyance but...... If the airline are aware then they should be very accomodating, just bring a lot of stuff to try and keep him amused
