Hey I have a question. I've been breastfeeding since my daughter's born (she is 24 days old) and for about 1 1/2 wks I wanted to increase my milk supply to stay a couple feedings ahead of her so I pump which I have been pumping since she was like 4 days old. It was great, then slowly instead of being 2-4 bottles ahead I was only 1 bottle ahead of her, then now i can only give her like 3-4 feedings PER DAY from my breastmilk even though i started pumping about 1 1/2-2 wks ago every 3 hours to keep it up and get more milk. Has anyone else been in this situtation where you think you'll get more since you are pumping more often but it becomes less? so now she is having mostly formula at night and breastmilk during the day since i dont have enough breastmilk to feed her all day.

I'm new with this whole process, so I'm not sure... but I've heard that milk production is stimulated most at night, and that's why they say to make sure your baby is eating overnight at first... Maybe try feeding her breastmilk at night and that might help stimulate your supply...

Ok first I would ask if she is nursing most of the day? The more that you nurse the more milk you will have. Pumping doesn't stimulate your let down which is what is most needed for milk reproduction. Night nursing are the best because you and baby are relaxed that that will help you greatly.
