I am going to be a new mom this year and plan on breastfeeding. Once I return to work, I will need to pump. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about a certain pump/bottle combination that has worked really well for them.

I have been thinking about the Ameda Purely Yours, since it is a double pump and the milk doesn't contaminate the pump for future use (you can just change out/clean the tubing).

I also saw the Medela bottles as well, which my sister-in-law used with the Medela Pump in Style.

Also, has anyone tried the Fresh Baby ice cube trays to freeze your milk in and how did that work for you?

Thanks ladies!

if u talk to the people at your local hospital they usually let u rent breast pumps it is a lot cheaper than buying one and then u don't have to worry about wearing them out. it was like $20 a month to rent one from my hospital. they also work better than the ones u buy. they get more milk faster. hope this helps good luck. its so nice to hear that u want to breastfeed!!

I have been looking on the net for pumps and I have narrowed a few down by looking at thier reviews from other users for each pump that i am interested in. I feel more confident buying one that has had the most great reviews. I gives you a chance to hear what other moms have to say that have actually used them. Best of Luck, im sure you'll find a great breastfeeding system!

Thanks for the information. I am not birthing in a hospital and if I bought one it would make up its cost in 10 months ($200 to buy one and $200 to rent one for 10 months), especially if I use it with multiple children.
