Name: LindsayK Title: Well...my lil' girl is weaned... :(

I guess it was time, she didn't seem interested anymore. I had dropped her down to night nursing 2-3 times a night for about a month, then just once a night for about a week and a half. Now she hasn't nursed since Sunday morn. I'm more upset about it than she is she hasn't asked for it once. I think she was ready and I'm really glad I waited until she was, instead of taking it away from her amidst tears. Anyway, we had a good nursing run I think, 17 months. I hope I am as successful with baby #2.  ?

YOU ARE AMAZING!!! You gave so much to your little one and now you will be able to do it all again. Just think you will still be able to offer both children breastmilk. If the older one gets a cold you can always express some and give it to her in a cup to help. There is no hope to it. You are going to do it again and you are going to do great!!!  =

LindsayK - I hear you. I just stopped at 11 months with Ian. He really wasn't interested anymore. We dropped down to two feedings. Then to one. He doesn't seem to care but I do miss it. I was always concerned about breastfeeding before I was pregnant but wow! what an amazing experience : ) 17 months. You did awesome!!!!!!!  =

Thanks Marti, and you did awesome too! It's been almost 3 weeks now since she's nursed and she's totally forgotten about it since like day 2, but I still miss it... :( My husband keeps telling me suck it up b/c I'll have another to nurse in a few months.  =

i kind of miss breastfeeding too.. i miss the bond i shared with my lil girl.. thats why im breastfeeding this time too.. im due the first week of July and i plan on breastfeeding again! i will be close to my baby boy like i am with my lil girl! im excited  =

i think i am going to breastfeed my little boy.. im not for sure yet though! i have a couple of weeks to decide still!  =
