i asked my sister in law if she had breastfed my nephew and she said, no because she couldnt produce enough....what does that mean and can it happen to anyone? i want more than anything to breastfeed my child. how do you not produce enough milk? is there something you have to do to keep the milk flowing? and what is lactating? does that sometimes prevent you to? im a first time mom and scared,

The more your baby suckles, the more milk you will produce. It takes a little time and patience, but it will happen.

Nurse, nurse and nurse some more. ... its important that you ofer breast all the time in the first 6 to 8 weeks. Often mothers want to bottle train there baby. In the first weeks this is not good because you baby is giving your body the cues on how much milk to make. Many mothers worry thier baby wont take a bottle if they intruduce to late, well 8 weeks is a good time to introduce a bottle at this time your body is knowing how much to make and you wont risk "not having enough milk."

The herb fenugreek boosts milk production.
