Name: ren Title: no poop 4 a week now.

My baby is 6 moths old & he started eating solid food last satuday, will be a week tomorrow and still has'nt poop. His totally breastfeed, his happy baby, no fuss at all, lots of stinky fart during the day, i am just worried about him no poop for a week, what must i do, pls. help. I am a knew mom and worries too much..  ?

With a breastfed baby they can go quite some time without poops and it is normal but since you just started food I would talk to the doctor. You may want to try and add some stage 1 prunes to his diet or try a tushie massage, just massage the pillows to relax baby enough to let it out. I am sure things will get better soon. This is a big change for his system so take it slow and don't worry if he is not ready, try again in another week.  =

a natural harmfree solution to get his bowels moving is brown sugar (the really fine stuff) dissolved in water. I used it on my daugher when she was a baby and she became regular. breastfed babies can go upto 10 days without pooping (I think that's what I heard).  =

His body is just now starting to process solids. Give him a little bit of time to come around. You can also "tickle" him as you would check his temp rectally with vaseline. But beware have something underneath for an explosion. I had to do this with my youngest for about 6 weeks until her body became used to the idea of pooping. Hope everything comes out ok.  =

Its perfectly normal for your baby to go that long without pooping. I also breastfeed my daughter and she's done the same thing...no poop for a week..so don't worry, I bet he's already used it and you're on to other worries. Congrat's on the new baby!!  =

but anyways.. my daughter didnt poop for about a week once and i was really worried too. then she got sick. and i still dont know why she didnt for that long. it went on for 8 days.  =

I just went through this with my 3 month old he didnt go for 2 weeks and we ended up takin him to the er we followed up with a doctor and she told us to give him a teaspoon of milk of magnisia it is perfectly safe a woks wounders and when he starts goin again slowly take him off of it it wont harm him at all all it can do is give him diahrria but if that happens lower the dose and i tried everything this doctor really helped  =
