Name: michmat Title: pumping problems
I have been exclusively breastfeeding for over 5 months now. I pump to have enough milk for the 1 day a week I work and the occasional night out with husband. Everything was going great until about 3 weeks ago - all of a sudden it started to hurt when I pump as well as make my nipples/aereola crack and bleed. I haven't changed anything. Does anyone have any ideas/advice?  ?

Maybe try a different pump? Do you use manual or electric? I tried both and preferred manual. Mine was an Avent one.  =

You can also try expressing manually (no pump, just your hands) I sometimes had more success that way before I found the pump I liked best. Good Luck  =

As Lindsay has asked is it manual or electric? Is the pump old or new? What brand? Have the settings been accidentally changed? Are you using any lanisoh?  =

What pump are you using? If medela you can change the size of the cup. Usuing to small a cup can damage your breasts and nipples. Also make sure that you are directly center before pumping and make sure that the pump is off before putting to breast.  =
