Once before there were clear skies ahead
A place where we both could be see
The beautiful trip had just begun
We were everything we could be
The clouds began to move in
The sky turned from blue to grey
We saw the storm approaching
Hoping the next would bring a brighter day
The fog rolled in fast
I didn't wish it to be
Now there is a thick mist between us that doesn't let us see
Now I look for you and you will look for me
This thick mist wont go away and just let us be!
If I look down at the ground I can finally see my path
It is a new ground for me but I feel it will last
I will take a new road
I will walk to the shore
I will build a light house for us to see
Set a light to burn for evermore
But our ships may only slightly turn at first
Sometimes you must crank hard the wheel
At times it is difficult for anyone to move the cold dark steel
There is no way to help to steer another's ship
It is a voyage just for them
A one person ship
You can only hope they can find the way
To see the light through the mist again
The mist is sometimes so thick its difficult to see
I will stand here strong and steady
I will always be at the shore and let be what will be
I will wait here until again I can see my friend
Even if they don't see me, I am who I am.
If the ship doesn't turn
If our paths again do not cross
I will always know it was great to have loved so deep and then to have lost
If we hear the warnings
If we can avoid the rocks
To look at what we have missed
We could be steadfast again
then begin to see again through the mist
Clear days ahead for each that it what to hope.
For both or for one we can throw each other a rope.
We then can help guide each other to clear days ahead
So finally the mist will leave us alone and give us visions of much hope.
To avoid the fearful dark
Or the blinding mist
Seeing the storm approaching is what is not to be again missed.. ↓
