Can ex wives take it upon themselves to stop the father from seeing his child? Even though he is paying child support.

My husband's exwife won't change her name back. I am not really shocked. She is stuck and has been for a very long time. They divorced over 10 years ago. She just started to date so we hear. Not sure if I believe it really. Their kids are young adults so no reason to still have the name. I don't think she thought my husband would ever remarry. She thought he Would eventually go back. His kids told us this. In fact before we got married she was crying and carrying on even though at that point they weren't together for a very long time. It doesn't bother me honestly. I think it's her and her inability to move on. Anyone that talks to us is surprised she still has the name. We laugh cause we know her. I wouldn't be surprised if she still thinks he will eventually return. Sometimes people are their own worst enemy. It's sad.

I was the 2nd wife to a man who's 1st wife kept his name, and it pissed me off too! But now we are divorced, and have a son, and I have not changed my name for 2 reasons: It is a time and money consuming pain in the butt, and, more importantly, I will NOT have to keep explaining to strangers why my name is not the same as MY son's name, or worse have my son have to answer questions about it. Believe me, I wish I had NO connection with my ex - I left him. It is more complicated than you think!
