So i have two quick questions..
First im getting induced in the morning && my mom wanted to get a stork for when the baby comes home to put in our front yard.. does anyone know of any cute places that do those around jacksonville florida?

Second.. my doctor told me she was going to put a round tube up inside of me in the beggining && that once i got to 4 cm it would fall out.. thats how they'd know i was 4 cm's.. has anyone else had this done? im only 1 cm now so i wasnt sure if she was going to stretch me out some to put it in.. if so kinda sounds painful :/ Just thought id ask.. ive never heard of that being done till now! | Hi Mommy2be, I don't have any suggestions for your first question, but can offer some input on your second one. When I had my son, the doctor inserted that tube into me to help dialate me to 4 cm. It wasn't all that painful from what I remember, just a little uncomfortable. They insert this tube and inflate the end kind of like a balloon, it falls out on it's own when you get to 4 cm. I didn't even know when it had fallen out, didn't feel a thing. I hope that puts you at ease a little. Good luck tomorrow! ↑ |

They didn't let me walk while that was in. They put it in before I was moved into my labor and delivery room and didn't move me until it fell out. I had it done at a military hospital so they may have done things differently.
I bet it would feel wierd to walk with, but hopefully it will work pretty quickly and it won't be up there long. Are they going to give you pitocin too? ↑ |

| yah they're doing both.. im hoping it wont take long.. im only 1 cm though and past my due date.. how long did it take for yours to fall out? I asked my dr if id be in the labor & delievery room or in a smaller room && she said i was going straight to the labor && delievery room.. so i hope thats true bc those rooms are soo much nicer.. more homely than the little rooms (: ↑ |

| It took about 30 to 40 minutes to fall out, I was 2 cm when I went in, but I had pre-eclampsia and my cervix had changed which is why they induced me early (38 weeks). They started my pitocin around 12:30 in the afternoon and I was fully dilated by 11pm. Is this your first baby? ↑ |

| mommy are you effaced at all? you may give me some hope LOL .. im supposed to be induced next week at 39 weeks but im barely 1cm and not effaced that I know of and that worries me b.c i was told it is almost setting yourself up for a failed induction GAH .. ↑ |

Good luck Mommy2be, I hope you have a fast labor.
Coartney...try having someone give you a foot massage. There are pressure points in your feet that can cause contractions (doesn't always work, but will still feel good) and that will help you become effaced. You could try walking a lot too. ↑ |

| ive been having real contractions since 34 weeks, i was told two weeks ago that i would have my kid and boom nothing, ill be 39 weeks next week and im trying to move things along before the induction. i had a pediure done and it did nothing for me. i just went to try and get primrose oil and all they had were the pills so he told me to try gnc tomorrow ↑ |

thanks everyone (: i hope it goes by pretty fast too lol but we'll see.
&& coartney dont worry, i just started to efface about 2 weeks ago.. nothing was happening w/ me i wasnt dilating or anything && then all of a sudden i started thinning out got to 50 % then last week i was finally 1 cm at 39 weeks && then i lost my mucus plug last friday.. so dont worry.. it'll happen (: i was starting to worry too! good luck!! ↑ |
