have any of you gotten one of these done??? i just found out there is one in my area and i am trying to get an appointment. problem is i am already in my 32nd week and ive been told that after 32 weeks the fetus gets all squished and the pics can come out funny.
im also worried she will look funny in the pics and i will get freaked out! also, it costs 175 dollars and if the baby is turned the wrong way there are no refunds!
but im going to do it... i am so excited! i cant wait any longer to see her. has anyone else had one of these done?
funny, my obgyn in costa rica had a 3d machine when i got preg, so i just assumed every doctor in the states would have one too. but no, there is only 1 place that does it in my part of the state! the procedure cost 35 dollars in costa rica, and he would do the scan for as long as you desired and take as many pics as you wanted. here it costs 175 dollars and i bet it lasts like 5 mins. im gonna do it anyway. ↓

I haven't gotten any 3D images, but I do have lots of 4D's.
They are so spectacular, and I have even blown some of mine up and put on my wall, and I also put some on my camera phone. People asked "how did you get that on your phone"...just hold the image in your hand and snap it :)
I hope you get the 4Ds because the pictures come out very well.
Either way (with 3 or 4) I'm sure you'll be pleased. I just love 'em!!! ↑ |

yes it is 3d&4d, the 4d means it is in real time, like a movie.... i will get a dvd of the whole thing.... i wish this lady would hurry up and call and make me the appointment!
how far along are you???? are you having a boy or girl? can you see if the baby has hair or not in the scan? i dont think that ultrasound could pick up hair but on some of the pics ive seen it looks like some of the babies have hair. ↑ |

i have a plan for those pics. i am going to mail them to my babys father in costa rica. im going to set up a fake hotmail account so he wont know its me. im going to name the pics something about surfing, like wave#2 or barrel or big day and put check out these waves! he will be excited to see the pics of surfing. he will open them and there is his baby. he will say ooooww my eyes! lol
i tried to make him look at the ultrasound and since ive left costa rica ive sent ultrasound pics to him through 2 different people and he refuses to look at them but this way i will trick him into seeing her and he will just have to accept the fact that hes going to be a father and im going to come down there and slap a huge child support payment on his a$$!!! ↑ |

i would love to do a 3d or even a 4d ultrasound.... that would be sooo cool. but of course I have to drive an hour to get to a place that does it...
I have seen them before, and for a $175 why not? I just might have to say screw it and go for one anyway.. lol ↑ |

I am 38 weeks today, and due April 1st Jenn. I have a regular sonographer, and she says she saw lots of hair (even though I couldn't tell what that was). Also, I am having a girl for the first time in my life. I already have one son, so this precious angel will be my last child. I have prayed for more than ten years to get this miracle....I've loved her since before the day of conception.

i got them done! yesterday i called in the morning and someone cancelled so i drove an hour and a half to the place. it cost 175 dollars but was worth it!
at first she was turned back to and all we could see was her little ear. then i poked at her and she turned around for a little while and we could see her little face. she was very chubby for 31 weeks. the lady who did the scan said, "she hasnt missed many meals!" then she opened her eyes! then she opened her mouth, stuck out her tounge, and then she smiled! she looked so happy and sweet!!!! i think she looks like me as a baby she didnt look much like her father. its still hard to tell cause the images were kind of wavy and not that clear.
then she got her foot in her mouth and her hand on her face and stayed that way for the next half hour, so we didnt see her face much more but she has big feet like her mom and dad!!!
anyway not everyone gets perfect pics but it was DEFINITELY worth it i would recommend it to anybody, and it is always a relief to see that there really is a baby in there with a face and everything and you can see what she does..... incredible! ↑ |

there's no such thing as a stupid question..
but to answer yours...you are correct.. you can only see what's outside, and personally i think its better than the regular black and white ultrasounds.. ↑ |

| Kris...to Nora. Thanks for your reply. I have only seen the black and white ultrasounds where you can see the baby's heart and all the other things they check. So I wasnt sure if in 3d what you would be able to see and what you wouldnt. ↑ |
