Hey i started the pill 2 months ago, i stared it on the first day of my period as advised by my doctor, however, i had sex just after i finished, *roughly 7 days after starting the pill* however, we did not use a condom that time as i was having reacting to them which has now been confirmed as a latex allergy, i stopped taking my pill on monday and still have not come on. How long do you have to wait before you are protected from pregnancy on the pill? And is there a change i could be pregnant?

I don't have a real answer for you, but if you call your doctor and explain what's happening I'm sure he or she can give you excellent advice and you won't have to worry anymore.

God bless.

People actually get pregnant on the pill all the time. For the first 7 day of starting your birth control pill (this is if you haven't been using birth control) you should use some sort of protection since there is a good chance of becoming pregnant. As far as whether or not you are fully protected with using just the birth control pill as protection actually depends on the birth control that your on. Each birth control varies on how long it take to become fully effective. The only way you can find out when your birth control should be fully effective is to contact your doctor who should be able to tell you this. So yes there is always the chance of becoming pregnant while on the pill.
