Name: Should I be worried?

After sex this morning I started to bleed. I am 6 weeks pregnant. This blood kinda like the beginning of my period. Any ideas? Worry or no? I dont think an U/S can be useful this early in pregnancy as the heartbeat, I dont think shows up yet. Should I worry? I have had 3 other normal pregnancies and never had any type of bleeding with them, Although those pregnancies were are preterm from 32wks-35wks. I am trying not to worry but you just cant help it when your pregnant and see blood. ↓

| alot of people have a small period in the first trimester if your worried go to your gp because it might be serious ↑ |

| Thank Amy for your reply. I just realized that my bleeding is bright red, as if my period is starting. I am wearing pad now and looks as though my period is here. Sorry to be graphic. I was reading online that alot of women bleed brownish blood, and this is bright red. Think I am about to call the ob but still wondering if I am just worrying too much? ↑ |

same thing happened to me at about 6 weeks, i had sex and immediately bled, for like 2 days, bright red, pretty heavy! with cramps! i didnt know i was preg so i just thought it was my period. when it suddenly stopped i knew something was up! it was really hard convincing the babys daddy that i was preg when he had seen the blood!
but im 39 weeks now and no problems so i wish you the best of luck! ↑ |

| I had bright red blood around 5 1/2 weeks with my first baby, and my Dr. had me come in, I hadn't had sex or anything and there was quite a bit of blood. They did an internal ultrasound after the bleeding and that was around 6 weeks. I was fine and we got to see the baby and the heartbeat. If you need a pad, you should call your Dr. and let them know what's going on and see if they want you to come in. It's not too early to see your baby, good luck! ↑ |

Thank you Chris R For your reply. Since this morning have been wearing a pad and sure enough like the beginning of my period. I went and bought 4 more preg test because honestly besides being tired I havent felt preg and sure enough all +
I called the dr and they are going to call me back and maybe send me for an u/s I just thought that at 6 weeks you couldnt see anything. Thanks for your replies :) ↑ |

| Good, it will make you feel better to hear back from your Dr. At 6 weeks you can't see much but a blinking dot, but it's still very reassuring and very cool! Let us know how you are doing. ↑ |
