I just bought a bunting bag for my carseat and I was just wondering if they are worth it. It is a really cute fleecy thing that is meant to stay inthe car seat (the buckles and harness go right through the back, but it seems like it might be a bit of trouble. The problem is it gets to be minus 40 here and will be cold until May. I was just wondering if any of you ladies have bothered with them and what type if you did. As of right now I am thinking about returning it.

I've heard alot og good things about them, but I live in San Antonio, tx and it was 85 F here today, so one of those are out of the question. I would consider getting the JJ COle lite bunting bag...it has a fleecelike material instead of that heavy sherpa stuff and it's like 10-$15 cheaper.

Yeah this one is a thick fleece, but it gets really cold here so we need it. I am just looking at it and wondering how the hell to put it on.

i used one. my daughter was born in january and i loved it. is it the kind that zips on both sides? its nice cause you can pull it up when its cold out, and pull it down when you are in the car. you have to unhook the carseat straps from the back and rerun them through the slats in the bag and then the cars seat.

Yeah, it unzips on both sides. I am trying right now to take the straps off the back and put it on. I also talked to the lady who owned the boutique and she said if I do have trouble that I can come in and get her to help me put it on.

I wanted one really bad! I like those and the swaddler car seat things. It seems so much easier than a snow suit.

I ended up taking the seat and bag into the store where I bought the bag and I got the lady to put it on this afternoon. She did basically have to take the whole thing apart to get the straps to go through, but it looks so comfy and while I was waiting another lady was shopping and said that she had used them for both of her kids and it was one of the things she would recommend to people living in a cold climate. Her children were both born in December as well.

Hey Randi where did you get yours? What is the brand?

I got mine at a little boutique in the town I am living. I think the brand might be Canadian. It is "Calikids". I did see similar ones on Babycentre.com, but since I am in Canada I was unable to order it.

I see... I would look it up but I am booted off just about everything but babycrowd right now!!! aughhh!!! I really like them. I wonder if a swaddler blanket and one of those covers would be too much. It gets pretty darn cold here.

I love this one b/c it can cover the babys face, it's wind proof and it's waterproof. The owner of the store did say that what some people who either can't find the bags, or can't afford them do is get a regular bunting bag and cut slots for the straps to go through. So if you don't have any luck and are handy you could try it.

Randi02 hope you paid attention to how the lady installed it because before you know it, your baby is going to be too big for the lower slats in the car seat and they will have to be removed again and rethreaded through the upper slats.
