Why did you decied to go ahead and file for child support?
And if you don't plan too file for child support why not?
Also, how did it change the relationship between you and the dad? ↓

Here's my situation.
I have a bf, he in the military. When he was here for three weeks it was wonderful. I didn't spend nearly half as much as i would for diapers and stuff.
Now, that he's away again, i'm thinking about bringing up the point of asking for child support...what do ya'll think? ↑ |

if he isnt contributing and you need the money, hell yes file!
as you know i am a single parent. i didnt file because 1 his name isnt on the birth certificate, 2 she has my last name, and 3 i dont need or want his money

im the same as you Nikki, i am not filing for Child support for all those reasons!!! I dont want it and i dont need it, Livvy and i are getting by just fine!!!!!!
maybe investigate and see how much the money would be that you would recieve and if its worth filing for..if its going to make things messy and all for a few extra dollars i wouldnt worry but if the amount is going to make a difference then i would really consider your options!!

We are doing really well!! LIvvy is teething at the moment and is pretty cranky about it! lol..she likes to spit itspretty grose, she also thinks it pretty funny when my mum says yes to her...and looks at me like im a dick when i do it..:(
She is 4 months this friday the 28th and is getting her injections next week!!! I am dreading it coz last time she had them done she ended up in hospital with the flu and whooping cough!!!! Im sure she will be fine!
I have just had to change her to goats milk to as she has developed a late reaction to cows milk formula!!! Its so expensive like $32 a can! I am so glad to hear that you and Brooke are doing so well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well I filed because when jeremiah was born I needed to have medicaid insurance because I was still a student and did not have a job with medical ins. In my county if you apply for any public support you have to file for child support.
His sperm doner never showed to any of the hearings and I have never seen a dime. oddly enough out of the blue I got a paper in the mail asking if there were any changes in status for childsupport. I called to make sure that my address had not been included on any doccuments that would have been mailed to him (last time something had my address it went to some chicks house tha the has kids with and she started all sorts of trouble.....long long story) anyway there was an automated system that said he owes 42,8??,??? WTF!!! How does a man owe me over 42grand and not be in jail??? I see people at the post office on those posters who only owe like 25 grand!!
I never push the issue, because he is the sort of person I do not want to expose my son to. I used to feel bad that Jeremiah didn't have a "dad" but in the end God had a plan and him not being around is the best gift he could have given Jeremiah. HE is a looser drug dealer type of person that I would never allow around my child. ↑ |

I have a 6 year old son and it took a long time to get his father to pay child support. We would fight about it alot and finally he saw that it was the right thing to do.
I think that if you sit down and talk to your boyfriend about it and just tell him that baby things are not cheap and you need help then it should be okay. It's not like you are just trying to be mean about it and take his money for other things. I'm sure everything will work out with what ever you decide to do. But I do think that he should be helping you.
I am pregnant with my second right now and my boyfriend is working out of state and we sat down and talked about it and he sends me money to get the things that I will need. The only reason we didnt do the whole child support thing is because we plan to get married and we didnt want to deal with it. But if he stops sending money then I will have no choice but to file the child support. Things for babies just cost way to much and I need help with.
