My GP scared me on Friday, said I wasn't putting on as much weight as I should be, and that my fundus is too small so the baby cannot be growing properly, and that I'd need to be scanned to check the growth of the foetus.

So I was scanned by a midwife today who raised her eyebrows at my doctor's comments saying that my bump is growing to date as it should be, which immediately indicates that my baby is not too small, and nor is my fundus. She said that not all women gain loads of weight during pregnancy, and when she scanned me, my baby is measuring LARGE. He's measuring at 5 pounds 5 ounces at 34 weeks, my placenta is perfect, the fluid is fine. Baby and I are both healthy.

GPs know NOTHING about pregnancy. Imagine telling me my baby was too small, when really he's a large foetus!

I think that's the way it should be over here too! GPs don't know a damn thing about pregnancy.
