I miscarried in December 2005. I ovulated January 2 or January 7. Here it is the 19th of January and still no period. I feel really tired. I took a HPT on the 17th and got a negative. Could it be too early to test? I am going soley by the day my miscarriage began December 19 and using this as a basis for my testing.
If anyone could help me out I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thanks

You kinda can't count it from the day of your miscarriage. Everyone's bodies are different and since your body was pregnant for a while- it could have thrown off your cycle. It might take a while to have your cycle back. I know how you are feeling though.....I miscarried in May and was pregnant again 2 weeks later. I found out around June 10th....That was only because I worked at the lab and checked my blood....I also called the dr office and asked them to have a HCG done because my June 10th my levels should have been back to normal. When they checked on the 10th the levels were going back up again. I don't really think a home test will show much of anything right now. Wait a little longer and call the Dr office and have them help you out if your cycle doesn't come back soon. The office might just tell you to wait also because it could take a while for the period to come back.
How do you know that you ovulated on the 2nd or the 9th?

Sara D.

I went to the Dr. on January 6, and he did a vaginal ultrasound and told me I was either at the beginning or the end of my ovulation, he showed me on the screen these black circle blobs.

I took a ovulation predictor kit on January 1 and it showed i would be ovulating soon.

Do you think if i asked my dr. to do a blood test that it would show up yet?

Hi Strumped. First, you have to wait until your cycles get back to normal. You can't count the bleeding (which started after the miscarriage) as a regular period. Therefore, you can't count on any ovulation date for that time period.

Once your period starts (forreal) then you should use the 10th day or 15th day as an ovulation date. I ovulate on the 10th day of my cycle due to be a 24 day cycle person, but most women ovulate on the 15th day since their periods come every 28 days.

Do you have 24 day cycles or 28 day cycles? Knowing that will allow you to pinpoint your exact ovulation day. Since I know my exact days it made it a bit easier for me to conceive.

Stumped--When did you guys have sex? I guess that is a good question :) haha... I suppose if you had sex before the 2nd and did it like ever couple of days until after the 7th......Maybe your chances would be good. As far as the testing goes---I would have the Dr check after the middle of next week just to play it safe....The HCG test works after like 10 days after implantation.....Just so you don't make yourself crazy---set a date for say--next Wed and wait it out until then--and then call the Dr office and tell them that you think that you might be and they should just call in an order to the lab and you can take care of it from there! After my miscarriage the Dr had told me to wait like 2 cycles before trying again...Well, My husband and I were pretty careful and the ONE night that I totally forgot about it...Well---the next morning after the event--When I went to the bathroom--You know that white mugus stuff that you get when you are ovulation---That was there...That is when I started thinking about it and I waited it out and had the test run about 3 weeks later....
Good Luck Dear!!!!
