I'm surpised your Dr. didn't keep you there since you are at 4 cm. That's usually when active labor begins. I started and stopped a few times. At 36 weeks when I went in to have my baby turned I was already contracting 2 to 3 mins. as well. They stopped it at the time but told me any day after that I would probably go. It never happened for me. In my case, the baby was big and after he was delivered they figured my body knew he shouldn't be delivered vaginally and that's why I stopped. I even stopped contracting as soon as they turned down the pitocin while I was about to push. 9He was over 10 lbs.) Not to scare you though, everything was fine for me, but I think that in new moms things like this happen a lot. If you don't start up and stay in labor soon I'm sure they will just give you a little pitocin and it will all be fine. The wait is the hard part. Good luck. ↑ |
Thanks for the advise. This pregnancy is deffinately different than my first one. I am 37weeks. ↑ |
oh wow. i know what you mean though. im so anxious to have my little one..im 36 weeks, he weighs 6.1 pounds right now according to the sonogram. i try to feel every movement and hope that his time will come soon, you cant help BUT to want your baby out after this long. i havent dialated at all but i told my fiance that were starting at 37-38 weeks if im not dialated im going running, were having sex 2-3 times a day, im taking warm baths, and all that extra stuff to help him come...i want him here so bad but i want to wait till at least 38 weeks so that i know that his lungs and everything are developed properly, i dont want him to come out too early and be on a breathing machine or anything. i wish you the best and hope everything goes well. ↑ |
Why didn't you ask your doctor if there was something you could do??? Duh! ↑ |
Thank you Heather for your response, it is hard waiting especially if you have already been admitted in the hospital once. As for you, Amerie, I think that was very rude. I went on this site for some advise from other moms or expectant moms that can relate to what I am going through. I did ask my doctor and she told me to keep walking and be patient she is a firm believer in letting things just go naturally. I wanted to get some more insight not just from my doctor. I hope that next time you will think about what you respond to someone else's question. ↑ |
Well put Alicia. I hope things start for you soon. I always thought that labor went quicker the second time around. Guess some babies are just stubborn. Good luck! ↑ |
