I didn't do whole milk, but nothing changed after 1 year for us. He had peanut butter at 11 months after I saw on the news there's no benefit for waiting. He had been eating everything we do since about 7 months.

Besides peanut butter i haven't introduced him to strawberries either.

But he's had strawberries puffs, that's different that the real fruit correct.? He didn't have a reaction to the puffs, so should I take that as a sign he should be ok with strawberries?

Also i've heard if he's not allergic to strawberries other berries are just fine also.

How about fish? Like tuna...I wanted to start giving him tuna for lunch.

Yea, my WIC people are really nice. This Thursday I have my appt, so no more formula, just whole milk.

I hope he takes to it....

Do you guys have that follow on milk. For one year plus?
I can't see myself weaning from formula until about 18 months tbh

Fish is totally fine. Kaden has been eating it since about 8 months. Make sure you buy chunk light tuna. We bake sole all the time too and Kaden loves it. The reason they don't recommend too much is because of the mercury, so buy low mercury varieties.

I started giving Kaden berries early as well. I guess the recommendations are different here. Anything after 6 months is fine unless there is a history of family allergies. If they are going to be allergic to it, waiting is not going to make a difference either way.

The calcium in milk is not absorbed well because it's so high in phosphorus, so it's actually not a great source. It's also high in saturated fat, sodium and then there's the pesticides, antibiotics and added hormones.
Kaden is drinking regular rice milk right now. The good fats that they need come from things like non hydrogenated oils, avocados, fish... He also takes a Centrum Kids everyday and something called Smart Squirts. For Calcium, I still do give some cheese and he eats broccoli, black beans, spinach.... For breakfast he gets a smoothie made with soy yogurt, fruit, banana and Calcium fortified OJ.
I just have to be creative in finding different foods.

The only thing that Tyler hasn't eaten is Tuna, but he has had lots of other types of fish, Hes gotten peanut butter a few times but mostly from reeses LOL my favorite candy.... and for berries, He Loves strawberries.

So strange though, last night at dinner he spit just about every thing out it was annoying but maybe it was because he was being a crab.

Randi when did you take kaden off formula??

Lauren, Kaden still gets about 8oz of Soy formula a day and then the rest is regular rice milk (with meals) or water. I will take him off of it completely at 2 years.

Brooke has had peanut butter, strawberries, and whole milk. She eats everything I eat, minus sweets lol. I also make sure all her food is seasoned too so that she likes food with flavor. As far as things changing when she is 1 I will be taking the bottle away, and trying to get her to eat off of a plate instead of just her tray. But as far as diet she feeds herself everything since she no longer lets me spoon feed her.

My daughter is on homo cows milk. I've always been told that until the age of two they should be on homo milk for good brain growth. They need the fat in it. At two she'll go on 2% milk. She was never ever given formula though, I nursed her until 17 months. I also waited till she was a year to give her peanut butter and egg whites. We have a peanut allergy in my husbands family, but she was fine. I was afraid to give her peanut butter b/c of it though.

Homo milk is only full of saturated fats. Heart and artery clogging fats.

The "good" fats for the brain are polyunsaturated fats. They found in oils, not dairy.
