You will KNOW when u are having contrations...
IT feels like period pain 100000 times worse !!
Also if they are REAL contractions you can time them.... They will come and go every few minutes.
If they are 5 mins apart... chances are you could be in labour.
There is also Braxton hicks, which are FALSE contractions.. but tyou cant TIME them.. and they just come randomly.

Try drinking some water and walking around. Braxton Hicks can worsen if you are a little dehydrated. They will subside when you have something to drink. Real contreactions worsen when you walk around, they can become more intense and closer together. Like Rosey said, they feel like the worst period cramps imaginable.
That being said, my BHs were always quite painful and they were frequent. When I was in labour though, I knew it. ↑ |
well I never had period pains so I wouldn't even know what that feels like!
They hurt, but not like I was dying (haha), I think they may have been braxton hicks but I was having them for at least an hour. I was at work so I had no way to time them and I couldn't walk around. (which reminds me I need to get a stop watch or something) Anyways thanks girls! ↑ |
| i had b.h. really bad with my second, but none with my first. you'll know the real thing-they gets WORSE as time passes. B.H. goes away and the pain remains at the same level. ↑ |
