Amy, I didn't answer because I haven't done a home birth, but I think you need to see a midwife for that. Check with your care giver and see if it's possible or see if there are any arrangements you can make for your mom so she can be there with you. It's so important to have your family and support people there with you. I had my husband by my side the whole time, and most of my family and friends came to see me while I was in labor, lots of visitors! I really hope you can get your home birth, maybe some of the other moms will post soon, I know there's some that have done home births, good luck!

maybe you could if they dont forsee any problems with the baby??? but i dont know cause they might want you in the hospital because of your age, maybe they will want to keep an extra close eye on you to be sure everything goes smoothly.... i hope you are able to get a home birth if thats what you want

my dad is very sick and wont get to go to the hospital either and that sucks but i cant imagine not having my mom there, my heart goes out to you.

Wow, it really puts things in perspective hearing about the tough times you guys are going through. I really hope that your families are there for your births, it's such a blessing! My parents live about 2 blocks or so away from the hospital and came down around 11 pm at night to see me as soon as I was given the okay to have guests, couldn't keep them away. Childbirth is so wonderful, worth all of the pain and waiting.

I have had all of my babys at home and the last one didn't wait for the midwife. If your pregnancy is going well having a baby is a normal natural health part of life. It might help to learn about childbirth so you know what is happening. Check out sites on home birth and how to be prepared. You can birth at home 16 is the age where many women give birth. Your Mum and the daddy should be there. He needs and has a right to see his baby come in to the world
