Hi there,

Me and my husband want to try for a baby in the next few months, however, I have been on the pill for 7 years. I am currently on pre pregnancy Vitamins and was wondering how long everyone thought I should be on these before trying to conceive.

Is there anyone that has been told to wait 3 months before trying, like us? I would like to try to conceive before 3 months is over but I dont want anything to be wrong with my baby and I want to be fully healthy.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I dont think there is anything wrong with trying before 3 months, I think the doctor means it may take 3 months to concieve! I really dont know.. just what I think! :-) Good Luck though! :-)

I remember reading that you should wait 3 months after being on the Pill before having unprotected sex. My advice would be to use another form of birth control for these 3 months, and keep taking the vitamins and folic acid now to give your baby the best start for when you do conceive. Also use this time to educate yourself on diet, exercise, methods of trying to conceive. You could even start tracking your basal body temperature now to give an idea of when you ovulate.
