i was induced as i was a week overdue. the gel they insert causes terrible pain so be prepared for that. they will prob have to strap you to a monitor after your waters are broken right up until after you deliver. i was. not good. but i delivered my son 11 hours after i was induced so it can happen quickly. good luck!

Oh is that the heart monitor they strap you too, its really uncomfortable!! did you have drugs to help with the pain?? 11hours thats good, my midwife did warn me when you get induced your in for a longer labour. Thanks for your advice love x

they monitored heartbeat, contractions, blood pressure. it was horrible cause it meant i had to lay still on the bed the whole time. :(

yeah i was warned it'd take long too. nonsense! it's different for everyone.

LOL i guess its just that everyone is different because i was induced with my daughter, and she is my first child.....i was only in labor for a little over 4 hours..went by really fast and it was VERY painful because of the pitocin, but i got my epidural and was good to go haha...only had to push for 10 minutes too, all in all wasnt a bad experience haha guess thats why im pregnant again and not the least bit nervous about the delivery

i was induced with all 3 of my kids and it went great!
emma-i was induced at 37 1/2 weeks. they hooked me up to the pit. and 10 hours later i pushed for 10min and out she came. they had to break my water but it didn't hurt at all and then a couple hours later i got my epi. but it had worn off by the time i started to push so that kinda hurt lol

gracie- i was induced at 37 1/2 wks. they hooked up the pit and 2 1/2 hours later i pushed 3 times and she was out. i had no pain meds with her at all. they broke my water with her too and it didn't hurt at all.

cole-they hooked me up to the pit and 7 1/2 hours later i pushed 10mins and he was born. again they broke my water, no pain, and then i got my epi. the epi lasted right up until time to push. so all in all it went great!

i don't know about the hospital you are going to be at but just because you are being induced doesn't usually me you have to stay in bed the whole time. with all three of my kids i got up and walked around the maternity ward for awhile a few times up until i got my epi. with emma and cole. the only time i HAD to stay in the bed was after the epi because well , my legs were numb lol
