Has anyone ever had like an infection or anything from their incision? If so what does it look like? I am overweight, therefore I cant really see my incision too well but from what I can see, it's red - kind of looks like heat rash though. So I can't tell if it's heat rash (which isn't uncommon for me because my skin folds over), or if it's infected (or something else is wrong). When I pat toilet paper over top of it on the side where it's red the toilet paper has a yellowish tint to it. Does this souns like maybe an infection?

i am not sure i know after i got my sutures (sc) i would take a bath and dry it as much as i could and then one day like 5 days after i got them on i noticed green discharge from the incision. i took them all off so it could dry out and it did and now its better. i would ask your dr mine wasnt red all around.

it really does look like heat rash though because its spotty (like red spots) and I am pretty sure infections look like streaks going away from the site. I just noticed it today because it's been kind of sore. And it hasnt been sore since like the day after the surgery.

Put some gauze on top of the incision site and leave it there 24-7 until you get healed. The gauze will keep it dry and help you heal faster. I had the same thing with my 1st section so I just automatically used the gauze the second time. Even if it is a heat rash the gauze will keep it cool and dry so it will be well soon. You can also try an oatmeal bath.. which is very nice :-)!

Does it smell? Infected wounds usually have a horrible smell to them.

well mine in 2 of the staples was really red and sore..and i saw a little bit of yellowish tint

I would clean the area with warm salted water and a cotton ball...so i went up to the hospital to have a look at it, but they told me it was ok..

best go see your doctor or hospital..you definly do NOT want to get it infected..and if it is...atleast you got is earlish and get can some antiboitics in your system asap
