Ok so she is going to be three months on the 18th, but she is still having major reflux issues. She is was on zantax twice a day, but she has been switched today to previcid, I put rice in her bottles to thicken it up, she is upright all the time even when she is sleeping, and we use a slow flow nipple. At night her bottles are extra thick since she is laying back a bit more then if she were sitting straight up. Anyway the point is that none of this is helping!! She spits up all day long all over the palce. We go through several bibs a day jsut trying to keep her clothes semi dry. that part I can deal with though. what is really bad is that she will have choaking episodes. It is not like she is gaging she is really choaking and not moving any air. Sometimes it will clear on it's own and sometimes I have to use her nose sucker to get the fluid out. It happens at least 6-8 times a day and at least 2 of those times it is so bad that her lips start to get blueish and her face is beat read. It scares the shit out of me and anyone else who sees it. I am so afraid that she is going to be in her swing or something and I won't hear her thrashing around and she is going to choak to death! I know it sounds a bit dramatic, but when she is choaking the only way you can tell is that she gets a freaked out look on her face and starts thrashing all around trying to breath, but she can't make a noise since she can't move air at all. I took her to the dr today and she is going to have an upper GI to make sure that her anatomy is normal, but I am sure it is since her chunkey ass is 13lbs now. Anyway not really much I can do I just needed to vent about it because it is really starting to stress me out.

That is aweful! I can't imagine having to go through that! I must say you are an amazing mom. It's starting to stress you out! I would have freaked out so long ago! I hope they can find something to help your sweet little girl soon. No one should have to deal with that.

my little girl had this and would spit up by the bucket full...we would use receiving blankets as spit rags just to try to save the carpet...but i didn't put her on the meds because she never seemed like she was in pain from it and was gaining weight...see the doctor told be that there was some pretty scary side effects to all of the meds and the whole not breathing thing was one of the side effects to the meds so you might wann't to bring this up with her doctor because the meds could be what is causing it....i was also to that it could cause seizures that make the baby appear dead and the only way to tell that they are alive is to feel their heart beat from up to several hours...that was enough to make me not wont the meds.....

but my little girl did start out growing it at about 7 months and was completely over it by the time she was a year so hopefully even though that is a ways off for you it gives you some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.

My son has acid reflux thanks to good old me. I too dealt with the major spitting up and switched to recieving blankets as spit up rags since a regular spit up rag or bib just woulr not do the job. I did have him on medication for a short peroid of time but noticed that he would spit up more on the meds then without so I stopped. I added the cereal to his bottles as well as switched him to soy based formula. Although he continue to spit up it wasn't as bad. I do understand the fear of not being aware that she is choking while in her swing. I too was freaked out alot about this. Infact I would sit up the swing or his bouncer in the room that I was in so that I would be able to know.
