Its normal for a baby to kick less as it gets bigger right? Cause of less space or something.. i just don't feel like she kicks much anymore.. i can feel her squirm around every now and again.. but thats mostly when im lying down. this normal ? im prob just being paranoid and need someone to reassure me lol.
Also they get into a sleeping pattern by 29 weeks dont they ? so she could just be sleeping alot more.. i dunno lol.

you should still get kicks especially if you drink something cold and lay down. when i lay on my side he still goes nuts unless he is sleeping. they have 90 min rem cycles. and at 29 weeks is when it felt like he was rolling side to side like a damn rolly polly

yeah she still goes nuts when i lie down every time.. she has never responded to cold water.. and she never reacts while im in the shower either.. but its always been like that.. not just recently.
she just doesnt kick much.. but i do get a leg or an arm sticking out the side of me.. and if i push it.. she moves lol. i guess its alright tho.. i can still feel her move.. just not kick as much.

do they move around a lot more when you are laying down because there is more room for them to do so or what?

I was told that they move around more when you're still because the regular movements of everyday life like walking actually rocks them to sleep--or atleast quiets them down
Weird but cute.

that i cant tell you. maybe its laying on ur side like the gravity or something i dono i really have no idea. but i could insert something here to make it sound really intelligent like perhaps i do know what im talking about hahah

I'm 30 weeks and I feel like she is getting more active everyday. She kicks and rolls and stretches and shakes her booty constantly right now!

The reason they move more when you are lying down is because when you are walking and moving about during the day, the motion lulls them to sleep. Then when you stop moving they wake up. Changing position can also sometimes cause the baby to move. Also, they do move during the day, but if you're busy you might not notice. When you're lying quietly you're more likely to be aware of all of the baby's movements, where as during the day you may only notice the big kicks.

yeh also like kyra said when you're more active you're less likely to feel them. I notice just about every movement though at 38 weeks, but he also ran out of room at about 32 weeks. right now sitting here he is squirming while im contracting. YAY

til scott comes home. we've decided to keep the induction date of the 23rd that way him and i have the weekend together as a couple before baby comes, but right now im having contractions again and alot of diarrhea randomly so who knows. i started the primrose oil last night, put two up there, hoping it will start help ripen my cervix

Oh that's good. I'm glad you pushed the date back. I bet you go into labor on your own. My water broke an hour after my mom got off the plane from Philly, and she came early to help me get things ready before my induction which was scheduled two days later!

I don't know Coartney. My experience with Sophie was very similar to what you've been going through. The only difference is that I was dilating and effaced, but I was having recordable contractions that were less than 10 min. apart at 36 weeks, and then they would stop. That went on for 2 weeks. And I did end up having to be induced just to speed things up, but no c-sec for me. I only pushed 3 times and out popped Sophie and then I drank the biggest fountain coke you've ever seen!! I was soooo freakin thirsty - I hadn't eaten for over a day and all they would let me have were stupid ice chips. That was the best coke I've ever had lol!

haha well if someone can bring me a huge thing of raspberry tea afterwards.. woo.. and im hoping im not induced b.c like i try to make sure im always full or eating something, and induction u have to stop eating at a certain point and all that.. screw that noise lol and i dono we'll see how it goes, right now im contracting again and its kind of panful but not as bad as it was when it first started i was in a ball but im seriously not sure if i just have to keep going potty :( or if they are contractions, they feel the same to me.

I had a lot of diarrhea for 1-2 weeks before I delivered. The contractions are good though because they'll help your cervix. Did you do any kind of classes that teach pain management or breathing? Also, I don't think it matters if you're induced or not, you're still not allowed to eat while in labor if I remember correctly. I think it's in case they do have to do a c-sec they don't want you eating or drinking - just the ice chips.

oh no i know but i mean the scheduled inductions, you have to stop like the night before. lol i dont plan on grubbing down on a huge sammich while pushing ill be too damn nauseous from medications :( and thats funny, ive been having major contractions since week 34, wheres the help at? LOL .. like i said i did start the primrose oil last night though maybe that will help soften and ripen a little.. and i always have like loose bowels, lately ive been going like 5-7 times a day. but tonight it was like diarrhea and water. yuck. we'll see though

Well I'll tell you this - the day before my water broke I was pushing a big cart around Costco (price club warehouse - don't know if you have those) and I also moved a bunch of furniture and was cleaning because my mom was coming. So I don't know if that helped things along. My doctor also stripped my membranes the day before my water broke, so...who knows. It seems like there are really no consistent rules about pregnancy and labor/delivery. Every one really is unique.

Name: Coartney | Date: Apr 14th, 2007 6:56 AM
haha i love costcos and sams club i hate that u have to pay for a membership though. lol but i guess it makes sense. lol and my doctor wont strip my membranes b.c he moved my due date back, so instead of being 39 weeks monday ill be like 38w and some odd days. i dont care, ive never measured behind they're just idiots .. yeh the 34 week time was when i first got here and i cleaned the entire house top to bottom ended up having straight contractions for 3 damn days but no dialation or effacement. i seem to have the worse luck with nurses and doctors.

Name: missmara | Date: Apr 14th, 2007 7:02 AM
Hmmm...I was 38 weeks 3 days when I got my membranes stripped, but I had been measuring 4 weeks ahead the whole third trimester. My induction was scheduled for when I was 38 weeks 6 days. You know - dilation can happen really quickly, so next time you get checked it wouldn't be unheard of for you to be 2 cm or more. My sister went from 0 to 9 in a matter of hours at home and barely made it to the hospital. And I was at 3 when I got to the hospital and was still at 3 12 hours later after being on pitocin for 6 hours so...you just never know.

yeh i know about not knowing, we're so in the dark with things, i wish there was a way like a effin alarm went off and was like GO TO HOSPITAL NOW lolol .. but we're not that lucky lolol .. omfg these are really kind of hurting now. lol .. my stomach is rock hard. and ive been measuring ahead too, but he said its unorthadox to start anything before 39 weeks .. now say that with a thick british or english, or some sort of accent he has LOL

Name: Coartney | Date: Apr 14th, 2007 7:07 AM
oh god my stomach is gonna expliode again brb

Name: missmara | Date: Apr 14th, 2007 7:10 AM
There is an alarm that says go to the hospital right now - it's when your water breaks!! That's why I was glad mine broke cause I knew they had to admit me lol!

Well hang in there with the contractions. If you can get in a warm bath that helps a lot. Now is a good time to start practicing your breathing and find what works for you so when labor is going full force you'll have some coping mechanism. I think I'm going to drag Andy off the couch and go to bed - we got a free sample of warming Astroglide in the mail lol!! Might as well try it out!
