| my family is from the south....when I wanted to have my daughter my grandmother made me swallow a table spoon of caster oil, and then that night after i brushed my teeth to get ready for bed, i threw my tooth brush into the trash....the next morning i woke up at 6 am with contractions.....when you possiblely can't take being pregnant any longer, take caster oil and throw your tooth brush away. ↑ |

| i too drank castor oil and went into labor about 6 hours later. my sister in law did it twice and went into labor both times. it tastes absolutely disgusting, but i chased mine with some juice and it went down a little better. my understanding is that castor oil is normally used to have a bowel movement, but towards the end of your pregnacy, it can start making you contract also. i took more than a tablespoon though. it was about 3 or 4 ounces. ↑ |

| i got mine at the pharmacy inside the hospital. so i imagine if you go to any pharmacy or maybe even a grocery store next to medicines for constipation. by the way, before i took it i asked a nurse and she said it would not harm the baby. ↑ |

| i experienced a quick labor with castor oil. i started getting my first minor contractions about 10pm and he was born at 4:44am. i was only 19 and it was my first baby and it was less than 7 hours. also, you spoke of there being more pain. i had a natural childbirth. no painkillers or epidural so it couldnt have made it that much more painful. my sister in law also had fast labors following the castor oil. maybe it just depends on each individual person. ↑ |

go by the directions on the bottle....I ouwldn't want to over do it, as it is initally designed to "loosen" bowels, and I'm sure you wouldn't wantt o go into labor with the "leaky booty" LOL!
I'm 34 weeks along now, and I am due on the 8th of FEB....so if my son hasn't decided to come out by about 37-38 weeks and am going to down some castor oil ! by th eway you can also find it at your local wal-mart in the aisle with the other constipation meds. LOL ! ↑ |
