Hello - just a quick question, when your membranes break can it be like a really slow leak or will you def know what it is. I ave been out today and my pants feel really damp around the crotch. it smells sort of musty sweet - but I swear I have not wet my pants. I do not want to go to the Dr in case they tell me I have. I have just got home and got changed and put on fresh pants, to see if it happens again. but I feel stupid for not knowing - also , is it possile to be an amniotic leak if I have not had a show? SO SORRY if this is a stupid question, I just do not want to put the baby at risk if it is amniotic fluid ↓

HEY!
I would go in and get checked just in case as if it is fluid baby normally needs to be delivered within 24 hours. Better to be safe then sorry!!!!!!!!

| dont worry those arent stupid questions, but ya its possible for you bag of water to get a small tear, and slowly leak out, or it could have a big ripp in in and pour out, its different every time, and i do think its possible for your water to break with out ever loosing your plug, i never saw mine and the hospital broke my water. but i would call your dr. just incase ↑ |

| Thanks ladies, it seems to have stopped now - I will keep an eye on it and see how it goes this evening, if I have any more I will call the hospital. thanks ladies - Yeah I am now 3 days over and she still has not engaged - it was just so wierd. ↑ |

Yes I had ruptured membranes as time went on I leaked here there and everywhere, it was bloody awful. I noticed that if I did something that required strain like lifting my older children it would squirt out. Later that night I went into labour my O.B said you can have ruptured mebranes for upto 24hrs before needing to be treated as bacteria can get in and they need to induce you. I went on a drip after my baby was born to stop any infection. Just keep an eye on the leaking waters for a greenish tinge that means bub has pooed in you and can be quite serious.

| like lauren said your water bags can get a small tear at the top and you will just leak, not everyone gushes. i also never saw my mucus plug, my water just broke ↑ |

| When my water broke there was a gush, but after that it pretty much didnt leak AT ALL until a good while later. When I went to the hospital, they almost made me go home because the PH strips they use didnt show that there was any amniotic fluid because it just wasnt leaking. But my water HAD broken. After about 3-4 hours it finally had leaked enough for the PH to be positive. It didnt start really leaking until about 6-7 hours later. ↑ |
