Has anyone had a short labor for their first or has anyone been told they should havea short labor? My doc told me I should have one and I read that You can go pretty far thro labor and not know it til u cant even speak thro the contractions. Kinda makes me worry I wont make it to the hospital bcuz i never feel anything unless im touching my belly when it gets hard n im dilated 2cm n have dropped really far down. But more than that im frustrated bcuz im not feeling anything happening and im kinda scared about it all hitting me at once....

I had contractions 6 minutes apart - then 4 - and never felt them (besides with my hand on my belly). My water broke at 5:00am and I had ONE contraction that lasted the entire labor (no ups and downs). I had my baby 8 hours later. That's considered FAST for a first baby.

That was 3 months ago. With this pregnancy I'm going to have to be extra careful to stay near the hospital since it could be as short as a couple hours. But trust me - you'll have time to get there.... it's not as fast as it sounds. No labor is less than a couple hours, and you'd have plenty of time to call 911 if you had to.

I went into labor at midnight and my baby was born at 8:41am....so next time I will have to stay close to the hospital as well!

lil dancer... to answer ur question he didnt tell me how he came up with that but im guessing its cuz my baby has dropped really really low n yet nothing seemed to have changed so he probably figures itll all happen at once? thats my guess anyways.

My doctor thought I was going to have a short labor cause I carried so low, but she was wrong - 23 hours! What was short though was the pushing - I think I pushed 3 times.

Mine was short for a first baby -- 7 1/2 hrs. But I was induced and already dilated to 4 when I went in
